Use OneNote for better formatting, combining snippets with text and lines, arrows, etc. Overall OK as long as you don’t hack - don’t mess with the underlying files outside of the OneNote interface. Sync: slower, I’ve heard of more OneNote sync problems than Evernote sync problems. Have to rely on careful organization & upkeep of notebook structure to locate things. Searching: I don’t trust OneNote search results. Works for people who prefer the notebook metaphor. Note creation & editing: OK for basic note formatting. Works great, but sometimes hard to see things in context to each other. Organization: need tags to show related notes. I’ve switched between ON & EN a few times. Is most of EverNote "behind the scenes" server side working to index and make all this searchable, whereas OneNote does a good job at making it visually appealing for notes? I keep schedules in an electronic notebook as well, to the point where OneNote seems like its really my only option. In reality, I'd be storing more practical things than this.
I'd like to be able to search for this by whats in the photo when its time to balance my checking account. The goal for school is to be able to take snippings from my electronic textbook and type over them, type on them, or write on them with the pen.įor personal use, I'd love to be able to go say get a cheeseburger at lunch now snap a photo of the receipt with the app that works with the note taking software. I really want to be able to use the s-pen on the tablet, inside my note taking software.
I use my laptop, my android phone, and my galaxy s4 android tablet with LTE connectivity. I'm a college student with health issues, I'm doing an online university program. I'm looking for some input on what might be better in the long run for my situation. I love the interface of OneNote much more than EverNote, although EverNote seems to have more "behind the scenes" functionality that means a lot as far as searching through notes and finding what I need. I'm a subscriber to Office 365 and my EverNote just renewed.
